課程概述 |
This course will introduce the life and works of Horace Walpole and the history of Strawberry Hill House. In Walpole’s lifetime, the architecture is at the same a glorious museum, a private press and a house for inhabitation, as well as one that inspired, produced and housed many literary texts while in turn influenced by them. In recent years, Strawberry Hill was restored to a public museum, though not to the full of its previous glory. To explore the rich complexity of Strawberry Hill, this course also includes a survey of related materials on the aesthetics of architecture. |
